Fuzzbutt has been trading since June 2006 and is solely operated by me (Rache), with my team of FuzzDudes helping out (when they feel like it!). I maintain the website, buy all the fabrics, sew all the gear, deal with all the sales and correspondence, and attempt to have a life at the same time ;o)

I started Fuzzbutt when my mum gave me an old domestic sewing machine and I attempted to make some stuff for my ratties. At first it was an unadulterated and embarrassing failure....however I stuck at it, looked at what was already "out there" in the hammock market, and drafted patterns for various products that were different to anything else (with the exception of the cube, which is a geometric shape and therefore not my creation!). After 6 months of research, development, temper tantrums, pinpricks and testing, Fuzzbutt launched and has been trading successfully ever since. Each Fuzzbutt creation is individually hand-made and will also have it's own special label, so you will know when you buy an original. Accept no substitutes!

Some hammock makers use foam inner padding, which makes an utter mess in your cage if the product gets chewed, and also rots easily when exposed to constant animal peepee! Fuzzbutt Snooze and Hoojcubes have a double layer of inner polar fleece padding, as well as the sherpa fleece lining. This is robust, comfy, absorbant, and not so messy if it gets chomped.

In March 2007 I upgraded to an industrial sewing machine, which helped improve the quality and robustness of the products greatly. I use industrial machine thread which will outlast domestic machine thread, and withstand many a boil-wash!! I strive to always find the funkiest fabrics and I place the safety of your Fuzzy as priority, with no loose ends or threads, fully stitched inner seams, and all webbing hangers sealed and hidden from curious teeth.

My sewing machine is right next to my computer so you are guaranteed a speedy response to any enquiries.
